DLA Piper has advised STG Partners, a California-based private equity firm focused on investing in innovative software, data, and analytics companies, on its acquisition of Visma Retail and Extenda, two of the most prominent technology providers in the tier 1 & 2 retail industry STG Partners will merge both companies to form Extenda Retail.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Extenda is one of Europe’s leading providers of Point of Sale software to tier 1 retailers. Extenda’s product range includes omni-channel solutions, self-scanning and self-checkout, mobile POS and e-commerce integrations.

Software and solutions provider, Visma Retail, equips retailers with the best tools to stay competitive as the shopping and commerce industries undergo change. They provide a full suite of services including consultancy, project management, installation, education, support, technical service and IT-operations. It is part of the Visma Group, headquartered in Oslo, with business operations in the Nordic region, The Netherlands and Latvia, and business support services in Lithuania and Romania.
