DLA Piper advises Anker Foundation on new student housing project in Oslo
Anker Foundation has officially opened Platous gate 14 – the very first student housing project in the Grønland district of Oslo.
The former office building from 1964, originally constructed for the Norwegian Intelligence Service, had stood vacant since 2018. It has now been transformed into 99 modern student apartments accommodating a total of 161 students. Platous gate 14 offers attractive shared facilities including a reading room, lounge and rooftop terraces, as well as retail and dining premises at street level.
The project has been realised without government subsidies or state loans, yet Anker Foundation offers rent levels that are 25–35 percent below the market average.
DLA Piper Norway has assisted Anker Foundation with the acquisition and development of the property.
- We are proud to have contributed to a project that gives more students a home in one of Oslo’s most vibrant and diverse neighbourhoods, say Farouk Rana and Magnus Lutnæs, who led DLA Piper’s team.
