Karriere secondment

Globale muligheter

Nordic Secondment

Nordic secondment is a low-threshold exchange opportunity where our employees have the chance to swap office spaces with a Nordic colleague for a week. This is a unique opportunity to get to know Nordic colleagues, experience a different office culture, and engage with local practice groups. Employees work on their own cases during their stay and a social program is organized to facilitate getting to know colleagues from the visiting office and others participating in the exchange.

"To me, embodying the values of DLA Piper means embracing the multifaceted role of a global lawyer. The Nordic Secondment Week has been an enriching opportunity that gave me profound insights into what it truly means to be an international lawyer."

- Layal Sarhan, Assistant Attorney from Denmark

Flash Secondment

The exchange program FLASH is organized annually to provide our attorneys with the opportunity to network across borders and experience a different office culture. The program spans two weeks, with different DLA Piper offices hosting each year. In 2023, two of our employees participated in FLASH secondment in London and Brussels.

During the FLASH secondment, participants also meet colleagues from other countries involved in the exchange program. There are numerous social activities planned, allowing for the opportunity to make connections across borders.

"I was really looking forward to putting faces to the people I've already collaborated with digitally, and to learn about the work culture in other countries. The program has been very social with shared lunches and dinners, and we've experienced several of the usual tourist attractions such as the London Eye and boat tours."

Oscar Lorentz Melaa, Associate

Collaborative Secondment

The exchange program Collaborative is a four-week opportunity organized annually for our attorneys. The program is a unique chance to build networks across borders and experience a different office culture.

Through the program, participants meet colleagues from other countries involved in the exchange program. There are numerous social activities planned, allowing for the opportunity to make connections across borders.

"To go on exchange through the DLA Piper system is a unique opportunity, and I strongly recommend others to apply for exchange programs like this. It's very nice to get to know our colleagues outside of Norway, and it makes collaboration between offices much easier when you already know each other."

DLA Piper Internatonal Academies

As a newly hired associate, you will participate in one of our international training programs abroad. Here, you will have the opportunity to get to know colleagues across borders. DLA Piper offers international development programs for lawyers at all levels, and our attorneys regularly participate in such programs abroad.

After the secondment, I was left with new friends from the Helsinki, Stockholm, and Copenhagen offices. What I think is especially great with the Nordic Secondment is that we frequently work with colleagues from these offices and since we visit these countries quite often, we get to talk or see each other again soon.
