Innsikt

Entreprise
"Led by Are Hunskaar, who is recognised by some clients as ‘one of the best’, DLA Piper’s practice ‘delivers extraordinarily efficient results that place it at the front of the pack’. Hunskaar is representing Opak in a dispute arising from a residential condominium, and Bjørn Erik Mørkved is defending Mesta against a compensation claim following a landslide. Clients also praise Hans Christian Brodtkorb and ‘market leader’ Arne Engesæth."

Forsikring
"‘Strong competitor’ DLA Piper advises a client base of international insurers including Chubb, AIG Europe, Allianz, Aspen and Zurich. The practice focuses on non-marine insurance claims and coverage disputes with expertise in D&O issues, professional liability matters and reinsurance disputes. Runar Hansen leads the department; other key names include financial specialist Alexander Plows and associated partner Camilla Julie Wollan, who is recommended for regulatory mandates.

Bank og finans
DLA Piper’s lender-focused practice counts Credit Suisse and DNB Bank as key clients; the ‘brilliant’ Dag Thomas Hansson assisted the latter with the refinancing of Norwegian Property involving term and revolving loan facilities totalling NOK2.8bn. Clients also praise ‘highly knowledgeable’ practice head Fredrik Lindblom, Erik Ramm, who is ‘one of the leaders in the field’, and associate partner Camilla Julie Wollan, whose ‘strong technical skills make her irreplaceable’.

Fast eiendom
DLA Piper ‘proves itself a reliable business partner’ under the leadership of Magnus Lutnæs, who is ‘a service-minded, proactive and trusted adviser’. Transactional work is the cornerstone of the practice; the team advised Ikea on the acquisition of land for a storage facility and handled portfolio acquisitions for Kildare Partners. Tone Gjertsen leads the planning team.

Restrukturering, konkurs- og insolvens
Highlights for DLA Piper’s ‘highly professional, responsive and knowledgeable’ practice include Frode Finnøy advising IK Gruppen on its restructuring and acting as trustee for the bankruptcy estate of Byggkompaniet, and the ‘incredibly analytical’ Johan Ratvik assisting Zurich with bankruptcy-related liability claims. Egil Hatling, who has ‘well-developed business acumen’, leads the team.

Selskapsrett
Under the leadership of ‘skilled negotiator’ Kaare Oftedal, DLA Piper leverages its global network to focus on cross-border mandates. The practice, which is ‘increasingly becoming a real competitor in the market’, acted for Linas Matkasse HoldCo on the combination of Adams Matkasse and Godtlevert.no, and assisted Herkules Private Equity IV with its acquisition of Beckmann. Clients also praise the ‘hardworking’ Christian Fenner, Fredrik Lykke and Magnus Brox, who recently made partner.
