DLA Piper advises TOMRA on a joint venture with Plastretur
DLA Piper has advised global sustainable technology company TOMRA on a joint venture with Plastretur to establish Norway's first dedicated sorting plant to enable circularity of plastic packaging.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to address the current practice of Norwegian plastic packaging being sent to Central Europe. With an estimated cost of approximately EUR 50 million, the facility will have the capacity to sort up to 90,000 tons of plastic annually. The plant, located in Holtskogen Næringspark, Indre Østfold Holtskogen, Norway (near Oslo), is scheduled to be commissioned in Q4 2024 and fully operational by Q1 2025.
With the overall global client relationship with TOMRA being led by Dr Benjamin Parameswaran (Corporate/M&A, Hamburg), DLA Piper's team on this transaction was led by Christian P. N. Fenner (Corporate/M&A, Oslo) and included Kjetil Johansen, Katrine Lillerud (both Litigation & Regulatory, Oslo) and Fredrik Klebo-Espe (Corporate/M&A, Oslo).
